My clutch had noises and when took it apart the grease was harden up in the one way bearing. its times like this that makes me glad this community has such great individuals. It seems like these machines like to make a lot of noise on acceleration and deceleration - most likely from the gearing and engine brake in primary clutch. I am keeping an ear out to see if the noise gets worse. Also new belt will quite the noise. But a friend of mine just boaught a 650 outlander. It sucked in water somehow and blew the headgasket. moved it slow motion and saw one arm of the u joint was broken. I put everything back together, torqued the primary bolt to 74 lbs and put the belt back on and started it. Fire the motor up without the primary and listen to it. I personally think the shifter linkage is goofy. But upon closer inspection I believe it has something to do with the governors cup. Up and down on the front and back is ok just side to side.
